in Chongqing
Our guide will greet you outside the Arrival Hall at
Chongqing Airport and transfer you to check in the hotel. If
time permits, you will have a brief city tour to the Panda House
of Chongqing Zoo and the Residence of General Joseph W.
Stilwell. At the zoo, you could see the lively giant pandas and
take pictures at close distance. As for General Joseph, he was
chief commander of US forces in the China-Burma-India Theatre
during World War II. In the color of low-key blue gray and
white, his former residence reveals a sense of calm. Today's
dinner will be on your own. Meals: No

Chongqing - Fengdu
After breakfast, our guide will transfer you to board on the
Victoria cruise ship. Your 7-day Yangtze Cruise downstream to
Shanghai will begin around 11:00am. In the afternoon, you will
enjoy the initial onshore excursion to Fengdu, known as the
'Ghost City'. There are 75 Buddha and Tao temples in the town of
Fengdu, most of them gathered on a famous hill named Ming
Mountain. All the temples on the hill were built at Western Jin
period (265 - 420A.D.) and rebuilt in Ming and Ch'ing Dynasty
(1386 - 1911A.D.).
Fengdu also has a great country forest park "Shuang Gui Shan".
This place has the most Han tombs (old graves from 206B.C. -
219A.D.) in China. Tonight,
enjoy the Captain's Welcome Cocktail Party. Meals: Breakfast,

Yangtze
Three Little Gorges
The essential part of your Yangtze River Cruise takes place
today. You will appreciate the unique scenery of the Three
Gorges, which span from Baidi City of Chongqing in the west to
Nanjing Pass of Yichang in the east. Qutang Gorge is the
shortest but the grandest among three gorges. The middle Wu
Gorge is famous for its lofty peaks and mountains on both sides.
The last Xiling Gorge is the longest among the three. We will
drift along the Three Little Gorges of Daning River when the
ship enters into Wushan, which includes the whole part of Wu
Gorge and most of Qutang Gorge. The cragged peaks, changeable
clouds, cascading waterfalls, pure water flows, mysterious caves
and flourishing forests make the Three Little Gorges a
picturesque land. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Three Gorges Dam
After a whole night's sailing, the ship will stop at
Sandouping Town. You will disembark for a visit to the grandest
hydroelectric project in the world, the Three Gorges Dam.
Upon landing, a bus will
drive you to Tanziling, where you could see the panoramic view
of the dam and its miniature. After finishing the excursion, you
will be back on board and the ship continues sailing to Wuhan. Meals:

Excursion
to Wuhan
Today, you will disembark in Wuhan for a brief city tour. This
city has both an ancient history and a thriving present.
It is recognized
as the political, economic, financial, cultural, educational and
transportation center of central China and also a center for the
arts, especially poetry. The Yellow Crane Tower built in 239A.D.
is one of the oldest and made famous by a poem. We will
visit Hubei Provincial Museum, which houses more than 200,000
pieces of historical relics. The main exhibitions include
potteries, porcelains, jade, bronze vessels, ancient weapons and
traditional musical instruments, among which the Bronze Chime
and Bells and the sword of Gou Jian are national treasures.

Excursion to Huangshan
In the morning, the ship will berth at Guichi Port where you
will land to climb up the Huangshan Mountain (Yellow Mountain).
Praised as 'the most fantastic mountain under heaven', Huangshan
Mountain has been one of the ten most famous mountains in China
from ancient time. Huangshan is known for its stone steps,
carved into the side of the mountain, of which there may be more
than 60,000 throughout the area. The date at which work on the
steps began is unknown, but they have been said to be over 1,500
years old.The mountain boasts not only unmatched natural scenery
but also its rich Taoism culture and historical relics. It also
has four top wonders, which are strange pines, fantastic stones,
sea of clouds and hot springs. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Excursion
to Nanjing
Upon landing in Nanjing this morning, you will have a full
day to tour around this city. The first destination is Dr. Sun
Yat-sen's Mausoleum. Dr. Sun Yat-sen was a Chinese doctor,
revolutionary and political leader. As the foremost pioneer of
Nationalist China, Sun is frequently referred to as the Founding
Father of Republican China. Sun played an instrumental role in
inspiring the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty, the last imperial
dynasty of China. Sun's chief legacy resides in his developing a
political philosophy known as the Three Principles of the
People: nationalism, democracy, and the people's livelihood.
After that, you will
proceed to a bustling bazaar surrounding Nanjing Confucius
Temple. This bazaar, which was constructed to reveal its ancient
appearance of 200 years ago, has been a popular place to
experience the various kinds of Chinese culture as well as to
taste the local snacks. Nanjing is also home to
the longest
surviving ancient city
wall in the world. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch,

Shanghai
Your Yangtze River Cruise tour ends in Shanghai at
10:00am. Our professional local tour guide will meet you on
board and transfer you to the hotel. After that, you will visit
Shanghai Museum which houses a large collection of historical
items, especially ancient artworks. At noon, an abundant western
buffet lunch will be specially served for you at a 5-star hotel.
In the afternoon, you are going to the famous Yuyuan Garden, a
classical garden with traditional southern China architectural
features. Afterwards, you could have a stroll at the Bund area
along the Huangpu River and then the prosperous Nanjing Road.
The Bund is a waterfront located to the west of the Huangpu
River which is a must for travelers to Shanghai. Tonight, a
farewell a la carte dinner will be served for luxury series
clients at a fancy and famous local restaurant, which offers
authentic Shanghai and Cantonese cuisines. The memorable dinner
will be followed by the Portman Acrobatic Show at Shanghai
Centre Theatre. Standard series clients will be on their own
after strolling the Bund area.
